Safe is the baseline.
Safety is the foundation of every camp, class, league, party, and youth sports program we offer. Coaches are trained to lead age-appropriate activities, support kids of different skill levels, and create an environment that feels welcoming and fun.
Our approach.
CORE programs are designed with structure, supervision, and child development in mind. Coaches focus on clear expectations, thoughtful group organization, positive communication, safe movement, and active engagement.
Coach training and supervision
CORE coaches are trained to lead youth sports activities in a way that supports safety, confidence, and character development. Coaches are expected to remain attentive, engaged, and aware of the full program environment.
Our team focuses on:
- Age-appropriate instruction
- Clear rules and expectations
- Positive behavior guidance
- Safe game setup and transitions
- Proper technique during drills and activities
- Group management and participant awareness
- Encouragement, inclusion, and sportsmanship
CORE coaches are more than instructors. They are role models who help kids feel seen, supported, and capable.
Day-to-day safety.
Drop-off and pick-up
All participants must be registered before attending a CORE program. Families should follow the drop-off and pick-up procedures provided for their specific camp, class, league, party, or program location.
At check-in, CORE coaches will help welcome participants, organize groups, and guide kids into the program environment. At pick-up, children will be released according to CORE's program procedures and any site-specific instructions shared with families.
To help our team keep programs running smoothly, please arrive on time and communicate any special pick-up needs before the program begins.
Group organization
CORE programs may be organized by age, grade, skill level, or program type to help each child participate in activities that are appropriate, engaging, and fun.
When possible, coaches create smaller groups or rotations so participants receive more attention, encouragement, and guidance. Groupings may shift throughout the day depending on the activity, number of participants, weather, space, and overall program flow.
What to bring
Please label all personal belongings with your child's full name.
- Water bottle
- Snack
- Lunch, if attending a full-day program
- Backpack or small bag
- Sunscreen
- Hat or jacket, when appropriate
- Any required medication, such as an EpiPen or allergy medication, if applicable
Please leave toys, electronics, valuables, and unnecessary personal items at home unless CORE has specifically requested them for a program.
Hydration, heat, and sun safety
Many CORE programs include outdoor activity, movement, running, and high-energy games. Please send your child with a filled water bottle each day.
CORE coaches build in water breaks and rest opportunities throughout programs. On warmer days, coaches may adjust activity intensity, increase water breaks, use shaded areas when available, or modify games to support participant safety.
Participants should arrive with sunscreen already applied. For outdoor programs, families should pack sunscreen so children can reapply as needed. Stick sunscreen is recommended for younger children because it is easier for them to apply independently.
Illness policy.
When to keep your child home
To help protect participants, families, and coaches, please keep your child home if they are not feeling well or are unable to fully participate in program activities.
Children should stay home if they have:
- Fever
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Worsening cough or respiratory symptoms
- Unexplained rash
- Contagious illness
- Significant fatigue or discomfort
- Any symptoms that prevent safe, active participation
A child may return to CORE programming when symptoms are improving, they are able to participate comfortably, and they have been fever-free without fever-reducing medication for at least 24 hours. For COVID-19, flu, RSV, or other respiratory illnesses, families should follow current health guidance and use extra care when returning to group activities.
If a child becomes sick during a program
If a participant begins to feel sick or shows signs of illness during a CORE program, coaches will notify the parent or guardian listed on the registration.
The child may be separated from the group in a supervised area while waiting for pick-up. Families are expected to pick up promptly when contacted.
Hygiene and medical.
Hand hygiene and equipment cleaning
CORE encourages regular handwashing and hand sanitizer use, especially before snacks, lunch, and group transitions.
Program equipment may be shared during games, drills, and activities. CORE coaches clean and organize equipment regularly and use safe equipment practices to support a clean, functional, and enjoyable program environment.
Allergies and medical needs
Families are responsible for notifying CORE of any allergies, medical needs, medications, or participant considerations before the program begins.
Any medication sent with a child should be clearly labeled. Please communicate medication instructions directly with CORE before drop-off so our team understands your child's needs.
CORE programs may include snacks, lunches, school sites, park spaces, shared play areas, and outside environments. While we do our best to support participant safety, families should clearly communicate any allergy or medical concerns in advance.
Physical activity and shared play
Safety at CORE includes more than physical safety. Our coaches work to create a program environment where kids feel encouraged, included, and supported.
Through sports, movement, team challenges, and coach-led moments, CORE helps children practice confidence, communication, empathy, resilience, respect, leadership, and sportsmanship.
Tell us about your child.
